Sometimes your bookshelf looks at you and says, “Hello there, there is something I need to tell you – there is a book begging your attention and its making me heavy – please unburden me of the weight and read it.”

I inspected my bookshelf I found a book I purchased after 9/11 and never read it with depth and understanding because I was enthralled by how this man became famous such that I gave undue attention to the rhetoric from the pulpits of the media rooms to the mosques and felt that was all I needed to know. Alas! I did not have the Gaza to read about him. I was still bewildered by the passport that was found in pristine condition at GROUND ZERO on 9/11.

In fact, Osama’s letter has filled the TIK TOK space with applause fit for a king that today its cathartic!

I found this book and paged through it capturing paragraphs and images and then decided to do what I wanted to do i.e., write about his letter. I guess, after that reading about his family would make more sense.

Before the letter of Osama dominates the page, it would be wise to cite Noam Chomsky’s WHO RULES THE WORLD? published in 2016. It has 23 chapters that gets you so charged up to think because it is so truthful and far away from the maddening crowd of media frenzy and pulp non-fiction. The pensive indulgence is not to give you a Noam Chomsky intellectual speech but, it is to illustrate that we think less, act without reason and follow blindly more now than ever. Noam Chomsky fits within that group of Intellectuals who analyse issues differently and puts them on the opposite end of Intellectuals who spin pulp non-fiction that perpetuate a war economy. Steve Coll’s book gets you riveted because you realise just how hand in glove the Bin Laden’s were with the White House. Roland Reagan is quoted saying, “We all worship the same God…The people of Afghanistan, with their blood, courage and faith, are an inspiration to the cause of freedom everywhere.” The context behind this quote is February 1985 when Salem Bin Laden’s half brother, Osama Bin Laden’s humanitarian efforts were documented and acknowledged by the White House. However, after September 9/11 the world became one where Islam was demonised by the image of Osama Bin Laden and the Middle East became the war playground and it was HUMPTY DUMPTY again. A divided Middle East and a once dynamic Ottoman Empire that stretched three continents that does not even have a superlative influence anymore beyond its own capital made Osama the new Mandela of the world.

The RIGHT OF RETURN lives on for this man in Occupied Palestine. Osama’s letter seems to resonate deep in the psyche and is seen as the key to unlock our colonised minds.

While seeking Allah's help, we form our reply based on two questions directed at the Americans:
(Q1) Why are we fighting and opposing you? 
(Q2)What are we calling you to, and what do we want from you?
As for the first question: Why are we fighting and opposing you? The answer is very simple:

I wondered why Osama could be so direct in the opening of his address and it became clear like the sunrise. The Bin Ladens financed Hollywood movies, traded Thoroughbred horses with the likes of Kenny Rogers, made real estate deals with Donald Trump, regarded George H.W.Bush, Jimmy Carter and Prince Charles as friends and also owned an impressive share of America. It was no secret that the Bin Ladens were very familiar with Adan Khashoggi who worked closely with the Saudi Royal Family and their secret financial deals with Reagan and the White House. Osama Bin Laden was part of this borderless world where money and influence wield powerful relationships and unimaginable geo-political manoeuvres for mutual global gain. Against this backdrop Osama witnessed a changing world and when he spoke openly against the USA it was like a friend talking to another. Contextualise this real scenario that Steve Coll mentions. When the son, Abdulaziz, of Princess Jawhara Al-Ibrahim, the wife of King Fahd being doted by Reagan in the White House and given a private tour of the Oval Office, gifted a model Space Shuttle, made to sit next to Sigourney Weaver allowed him to converse with Reagan without constrained formalities and protocols. This was how close the Bin Ladens were with those in the Oval Office therefore, the tone of Osama’s letter attempts to illustrate that relationship.

WHAT NOW?

Today, no matter how much we heap praises on Osama Bin Laden for the brutal facts in the letter it does not change the realities on the ground. In fact, Osama’s letter has filled the TIK TOK space with applause fit for a king that today its cathartic! People are crying tears of realisation and he suddenly became a hero hauled from the depths of his watery grave and made an icon again. Why? We have become tired of the LIES and the propaganda on Muslims which is now cliched. Today, Noam Chomsky is not the only Intellectual on Ground Zero i.e., the world as a whole and not the point of the late TWIN TOWERS. There is a revival of thinking and this is the new renaissance. In times of great instability, it is the lone action of one person to change the course of destiny. Therefore, the world will not be the same now because the LIES of the global war mongers are exposed, challenged and refuted to make space for the new narrative but, this is the forking time in history. Those who want the truth and those who prefer the lies. It is this fork in history that will either perpetuate the newly shaped world order or give rise to an authentic one. Call what you may this is not the SECOND COMING or Armageddon yet. It is the time when heaped praises are given to those who spoke the truth but are no more and can do nothing and; a time when the living must a call a spade a spade and do something right. Justice for your own soul is the harbinger for peace. At least for your own soul, be just!

IS IT IS GENOCIDE OR NOT?

(ii) It brings us both laughter and tears to see that you have not yet tired of repeating your fabricated lies that the Jews have a historical right to Palestine, as it was promised to them in the Torah. Anyone who disputes with them on this alleged fact is accused of anti-semitism. This is one of the most fallacious, widely-circulated fabrications in history. The people of Palestine are pure Arabs and original Semites. It is the Muslims who are the inheritors of Moses (peace be upon him) and the inheritors of the real Torah that has not been changed. Muslims believe in all of the Prophets, including Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all. GIVE THIS SOME DEEP THINKING…

The practice is ‘sadism, sanctimoniously disguising itself as mercy’, in the words of Israeli journalist Amira Hass…In fact, no place in the prison is safe from Israeli sadism.” – Noam Chomsky, WHO RULES THE WORLD, Chapter 14, page 174.

The SADISM is playing out in front of our eyes.

This is why Osama’s letter is gaining significance and its original geo-political context is largely ignored. It is so because the world population is witnessing a genocide but world leaders do not and that’s the major problem. Public opinion is changing rapidly especially among the young and this cannot be sidelined. Therefore, the alarming approval of Osama’s letter is shifting the intellectual tectonic plates and causing tremors of realisation of truth to be the new woke. Today, we see those for and against the genocide in Palestine and feel their isolation and can do nothing except making the world aware. That is our fight and it is working. For the first time in years, people are researching and making serious notes on what is happening. Furthermore, there is a revisionist attitude to history and that again leverages Osama’s letter. Read this part of the letter:

"As for the war criminals which you censure and form criminal courts for - you shamelessly ask that your own are granted immunity!! However, history will not forget the war crimes that you committed against the Muslims and the rest of the world; those you have killed in Japan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Lebanon and Iraq will remain a shame that you will never be able to escape. It will suffice to remind you of your latest war crimes in Afghanistan, in which densely populated innocent civilian villages were destroyed, bombs were dropped on mosques causing the roof of the mosque to come crashing down on the heads of the Muslims praying inside. You are the ones who broke the agreement with the Mujahideen when they left Qunduz, bombing them in Jangi fort, and killing more than 1,000 of your prisoners through suffocation and thirst. Allah alone knows how many people have died by torture at the hands of you and your agents. Your planes remain in the Afghan skies, looking for anyone remotely suspicious."

my reading of Steve Coll’s, THE BIN LADENS. The Story of a Family and its Fortune, continues and it very interesting indeed especially when you find out that there is so much we don’t know and so much we don’t want to know. It is this fear of learning uncomfortable truths that shakes the core of our being. These moments of truths makes us realise who you we really are well beneath the skin and layers of our facade. It is uneasy especially when we find out that within us lies a hypocrite and a liar or a person who has selective morality and ashamed to face it. I am against the genocide in Occupied Palestine and against all crimes against humanity but, still navigating the path of active resistance because that’s GAZAIAN by nature and I just don’t have it. I saw Mrs Naledi Pandor speak up against the genocide and I felt she has the Gaza in her to stand for justice.

Osama’s letter is an open declaration from his side that he understands the psyche of the West and one such example is the Muasher Doctrine. It is like he also knows why there is and will be little or no support from Muslim leaders for each other and that is why his letter is gaining momentum.

With this line of thinking, entrenched forces that opponents and outsiders calling for reform are exaggerating the conditions on the ground.”

In closing say it now if you believe what you hear and see on pulp non-fiction media or not because the world as we are witnessing it, is changing exponentially. So many lives have been lost and millions more will lose their lives and whatever they own. My pensive indulgence is a meek way to educate the world that we have to cherish our freedoms and work in our own small ways to effect change one heart and mind at a time. I leave you with Osama’s letter and my bookshelf unburdened. If ever you read this and I am no more, please don’t heap praises on my grave rather make a prayer for the oppressed and me too.
