Hollow Men.

YOU will find Hollow Men in the Occupiers of Palestine!

After jogging with a friend, I had more of a dopamine rush because of the chit-chat during that time and felt the urge to pen my thoughts. It was November 6, 2023, at 5:35 a.m. and it was etched in my mind as the day that I realized how clear people make themselves to the world. In particular, the so-called leaders, movers, and shakers who by their status, influence, and power believe they have become the masters of the universe. Furthermore, the immense command of the word power they have makes them feel invincible because they can, by the nature of wordsmithing, get away with genocide, corruption, and deceit with a smile on their faces.This deception has such an impact on those that believe them that they too begin to accept the lies as truth and become the brood that will perpetutate the narcissist agenda.

Like a hand in a glove, I found T.S.Eliot’s poem, Hollow Men, a fitting explanation of these men. Who are they? To begin with it is the United Nations, Benjamin Netanyahu, Joe Biden, Emmanuel Macron, Fatah Al-Sisi and others.

We are the hollow men
    We are the stuffed men
    Leaning together
    Headpiece filled with straw. Alas!
    Our dried voices, when
    We whisper together
    Are quiet and meaningless
    As wind in dry grass
    Or rats’ feet over broken glass
    In our dry cellar.

Leaders have become useless in a world where humanitarian pauses mean peace and safe corridors mean a path to genocide. Alas! They are the Hollow Men.

It is Saturday, 11 November 2023 and again after a good cycle and a cool off on Durban’s promenade I thought of how I should pen this article that I began on 6 November 2023. What sliced my thoughts was the news on the bombing of Shifa Hospital because it registered with the poem Hollow Men. It proved that these leaders’ heads are stuffed with straw because there is just no shred of empathy, compassion or a drop of milk of human kindness. What is this bomb?

What We Don’t Know Will Bomb Us Into Realisation.

This is the bomb! It is a bomb made by Hollow Men! It is like the human butchers wanted a bigger playground with colossal haemorrhaging images to distort reality.

In the detail of the poem, I became more convinced that we are living in a world where the common people in their masses too, cannot make a significant difference because we too, in some way have become ‘Hollow Men.’ In an attempt to make meaning more loud and clear I analysed the sense of the poem in part to be the following:

Hollow Men created this second Nakba and the world is silent!

Read these lines of the poem:

Shape without form, shade without colour, Paralysed force, gesture without motion;

Those who have crossed

With direct eyes, to death’s other Kingdom

Remember us-if at all as lost

Violent souls, but only

As the hollow men

The stuffed men.

What we understand from the above is that these men know well that they are paralysed in their psyche. They sell a victim mindset. The holocaust, which we do not deny, is actually the second one happening to the people of PALESTINE. The holocaust is exclusive to Jewish people, as how history made us think and that is how the narrative of the word sticks. This narrative of the word is challenged today and it is shredded as if a Hellfire R9X missile hit it. The world over now, because of social media and altered news-room settings, people are becoming aware of the lies that have subdued them into a false narrative of the oppressed. Therefore, we need to move away from being Hollow Men. To illustrate the nature of Hollow Men, the following from George Galloway is profound and fitting:

Now that we have witnessed the number of hospitals bombed, schools destroyed, infrastructure turned into rubble and the slouching of bulldozers into refugee camps uprooting tar roads indicate that a satanic, narcissistic psychopathic mindset prevails at the helm that drives the IDF soldiers hence, we have even more Hollow Men on the ground. How will they answer to Allah on their deeds? I look into my life and realise my deeds are there and Allah will call me to account. Alas! How will these Hollow Men account for their depravity to Allah? This will take place because even in this world, the Hollow Men are afraid of the ICJ, even its existence is for non-Europeans only, and to spend time in prison. Believe me, Hollow Men know this well and they will continue their aggression because in that holocaust they find a sense of immortality. So who are not the Hollow Men? Here is but just ONE example amongst 1000s in Palestine today:

Dr.Iyad Shaqura was busy tending to the wounded people in Gaza when he received the BODIES of his children who were killed by an Israeli bombing of their home in Khan Yunus, south of Gaza Strip. His response is one of incredible strength, patience and fortitude. His response tells of faith that has reached a pinnacle of greatness and close attachment to Allah whilst, at the same time it asks us if we have come to understand our faith in light of what we have and experience. Dr.Iyad like 1000s in Gaza and Palestine as a whole are teaching us that Hollow Men kill children and Good Men stand firm against injustice but will tear with merciful eyes when they are affected by horror. Why? they have hearts that are alive while Hollow Men are heartless.

I take solace in the fact that there are genuine people out there who are connected to life far away from Hollow Men. You really want to know why? Take another look deeper into the poem and it gives the answer:

It is now that we begin to examine the hollowness in ourselves and rectify it because, if left unchecked, it will ruin our souls. Come to think of it, Hitler as a baby was lovable but went wrong that today, if his mum were to look at him, she would wonder why the hollowness set in. The same can be said about Bibi as well, I guess. The innocence of childhood is filled with the joys of life but robbed by narcissists who kill deep rooted spirituality. Look within yourself and find that spiritual self and nurture it well without any indoctrination and false beliefs. If you don’t your lament will be just like the Hollow Men which will be:

I am yet to learn what these international organisations who pride themselves on human rights have to say. Their silence is that of Hollow Men. Who are they? Take a look:

I thought I had my say when the article was published late this afternoon and clearly I have not had my say. I guess I will always have something to say. I have to end so I leave you with this now that we have received news that babies and children are left to die in hospitals in Gaza because fuel has run out. Before that know that this genocide is business as usual for the IDF because it did same in Lebanon for 88 days where 18000 people were killed.
